ITEMS DISCUSSED

1. CPS Referendum and General Discussion– Gagan Dep Prabhu

The President welcomed all senators to the senate meeting and discussed the following:

• CPS Referendum – Updates on the progress of the referendum committee and next steps
• Dining Services – Received feedback from Senators about the dining services and identified ways to increase utilization of the resource by graduate students

 

2. Graduate Student Experience – Karan Parikh 

• Karan introduced his experience as a volunteer at the GSG Welcome Brunch when he joined Northeastern University
• Discussed his journey as a Senator and transition to the position of Vice President of Programs and Operations at GSG
• Discussed efforts he undertook (GSG logo, organized Fall 2019 Welcome Brunch) through his association with GSG

 

3. Quiz Session- Divya Subbaian and Karan Parikh

• Divya Subbaian hosted a quiz for Senators involving fun questions about GSG and Northeastern University on the ‘Kahoot’ Platform. Winner of the game won a Dunkin Donuts Gift Card.
• Questions: 10 
• Participation: 72 Senators 
• Winner: Anurag Shubham (9/10 correct answers)

 

4. Financial Affairs – Robert Hass

• Discussed late funding submissions and potential penalty for late submissions
• Senator suggestions to penalty for late submissions included Denial of next request, Three-strikes policy, and Thirty days denial of funds

 

5. Marketing and Outreach – Divya Subbaian

• Divya introduced the #GSGforCPS campaign and  requested senators to reach out if they are interested in volunteering for the campaign
• Senators shared their experiences at Northeastern University and with the Graduate Student Government

 

6. Lunch
