A Course Design Institute (CDI) is a two-day, hands-on intensive focused on the creation or overhaul of an entire course or major parts of it. This CDI is focused specifically on incorporating course-based undergraduate research experiences (CUREs), studies of which have shown significant increases in student-reported learning gains on a wide range of topics as well as in student motivation, interest, and retention over traditional lecture or lab classes.
