Husky Happenings Newsletter
Husky Happenings is the official newsletter for Husky 101 Orientation and Welcome Week.
Enrolled students and families will receive bi-monthly issues starting in April.

Husky 101 Orientation
2-part mandatory student experience. Family participation is highly encouraged.
1. Online Curriculum (June)
Learn about university resources and services that will support you throughout your Northeastern career. Topics include academics, residential life, health and wellness, campus safety, student involvement, and more.
2. Boston Campus Program (Late-June – August)
Experience Husky Life. Meet new students and families, hear from university leadership, connect with campus resources, explore campus and Boston, and engage in student involvement and resource fairs. Orientation is college/program specific, with several date options.
Registration
- Starting in late-April, enrolled students and families can register in the student’s Application Status Check.
- Orientation travel arrangements can be made after the student is registered.
- Move forward with summer vacation plans. Please contact us if you have a schedule conflict.
- The Undergraduate Student Fee supports Orientation costs for students and two guests.
- Meals, parking, social activities, and on-campus student accommodations are complimentary.
First-Year Orientation
- First-Year Orientation is a 2-day program. Most program dates are Monday-Tuesday.
- Students are required to stay on-campus overnight, with an early arrival option on Sunday.
Transfer/Veteran Orientation
- Transfer/Veteran Orientation is a 1-day program.
- Students have the option to stay on-campus the evening before the program.
International and Abroad Students
- International students are required to attend the final Orientation in late-August, concurrent with fall move-in.
- Domestic students who reside abroad have the option to attend the final Orientation.
Family Orientation
- Family Orientation programs are concurrent with Student Orientation programs.
- On-campus housing is not available for families. Please review nearby hotel accommodations.
- Presentations will be recorded for families unable to join in person.
Family Connect
Parents and families will receive invitations in July

From the onset of your fall campus arrival through September 9
Engage in 150+ programs and activities to meet new friends, explore campus and the city of Boston, get ready for the fall semester, and most importantly, have fun!
FAQs
When do students complete academic advising?
- In May and June, colleges/programs will communicate with students to complete pre-online academic advising.
- Pre-online advising is unique to each college/program. Contact your college/program for assistance.
- In addition, Husky 101 Orientation includes an academic online module and on-campus session.
When do students receive housing and move-in information?
- In early July, students will receive housing assignments, roommate information, and move-in dates.
- Please do not make fall travel arrangements until you have an assigned move-in date from Housing.
- Contact Housing and Residential Life for assistance.
When do classes begin?
When do N.U.in Program students participate in Husky 101?
- In January 2024, N.U.in Program students and their families will participate in Husky 101 First-Year Orientation in Boston. Following Orientation, new students will join in Welcome Week.
When do Global Scholars Program students participate in Husky 101?
- In Fall 2024, Global Scholars Program students and their families will participate in Husky 101 Transfer Orientation in Boston. Following Orientation, new students will join in Welcome Week.
