Parents & Families

Dear Parents and Families,

Living in university housing is an amazing opportunity and experience for your student – one that we hope will be full of learning, meaningful friendships, social development and of course, fun. Your student will navigate many exciting and challenging experiences, therefore, we believe in forging partnerships with both parents and guardians to support their journey in social and academic success.

Visiting Your Student

Many families choose to visit their student throughout the course of the academic year. By reviewing the following guest policy, you will be better prepared when you come to campus. Make plans with your student prior to visiting campus and discuss the date and time of your visit and where you will meet. This will reduce any miscommunication and give your student an opportunity to share your planned arrival with roommates.

  • You may have no more than three visitors signed in at a time and they may only stay in the building up to three consecutive nights in a week.
  • Any guest who is visiting the residence halls must comply with the university’s vaccination and masking requirements.
  • Roommates must work out their own arrangements for visitors; if you cannot agree, seek a staff member for help.
  • Guests must bring a photo ID along with them in order to be signed in to their residence hall. Guests are not allowed past the Proctor Station without being signed in with a valid photo ID.

For full details of the Guest Policy, see the Guide to Residence Hall Living.
