News and Announcements

The 2016-2017 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now available! Students applying for financial aid should submit the FAFSA by the priority filing deadline date using our school code, 002199. Deadlines vary by student type, so be sure to review the appropriate information. Remember, you don’t need to have your taxes completed to submit your FAFSA!

1098-T’s for the 2015 calendar year are now available on your myNEU! For students who requested their 1098-T in a paper format, it will be mailed by January 31, 2016. Please note, if you are an international student with a Social Security Number (SSN) or a Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) and wish to receive a copy of your 1098-T, please send your request via email to studentaccounts@neu.edu.

Due to the recent IRS Data Breach, the IRS has temporarily disabled the option to request an IRS Tax Transcript electronically. As an alternative, you may request a copy via mail or you may be eligible to update the FAFSA using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool. If you have specific questions regarding the process, please do not hesitate to contact your counselor directly.

We’re excited to announce that in addition to payroll, direct deposit can now be used for student account refunds and all other reimbursements from the university! Enroll in direct deposit now via your myNEU! To learn more about the process and the benefits of direct deposit, please visit our FAQ.
