CRECE is funded by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences and Environmental Protection Agency (Children’s Environmental Health Center).  This multi project program began in 2015 and builds on the PROTECT cohort, following 600 children born to PROTECT mothers, examining environmental chemicals and neurological outcomes, as well as asthma and other respiratory conditions resulting from air pollution.

Prof. Phil Brown is the Co-Director of the Community Outreach and Translation Core. The CRECE and PROTECT Centers are led by Prof. Akram Alshawabkeh (NU) and Jose Cordero (University of Georgia).
