Innovative Workshop at the Burlington Campus!

On the morning of March 27^th, Innovations in Oral Health (IOH) held a workshop for 43 direct entry nursing students at the Northeastern’s Burlington campus. The 90-minute session taught students about basic tooth anatomy, the etiology of tooth decay, how to screen patients for oral cancer and how to perform an oral exam. Following a demonstration of the oral exam by Ms. Holloman, the students then performed an oral exam on their peers. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with nursing faculty and teaching their students about their importance of integrating into oral exams into primary care practice.
