About

Innovations in Oral Health has been established at Northeastern University, Bouvé College of Health Sciences as a resource center to advance interprofessional research, education and practice for optimal oral health.

In 2013, with generous support from the DentaQuest Foundation, a three-year program was launched, Innovations in Oral Health Technology, Instruction, Practice and Service (TIPS), to engage students across the health professions to learn about, from and with each other to improve oral health.

The goals of the Oral Health TIPS program are to:

  • Prepare health professionals with team-based competencies to integrate oral health as an essential element of healthcare.
  • Promote the integration of oral health in primary care settings such as community health centers, school-based programs, and clinics.

The Oral Health TIPS program aims to link interprofessional education and practice through simulation and experiential learning innovations. Students and faculty will engage in interprofessional education and collaborative practice experiences focused on improving oral health care for vulnerable and underserved populations.
