Our commitment to safety
Northeastern is prepared to respond to emergencies and urgent situations at all our campuses. Police officers, EMTs, health and counseling experts, student affairs personnel, residential life staff, and other professionals can help with everything from regional emergencies to medical situations to weather alerts.
Emergency broadcast communication messages
In case of emergency or urgent situations that require immediate notification, university officials deploy the NU ALERT system, which sends emails, voicemails, and text messages to students, faculty, and staff. NU ALERT communicates relevant information and, when appropriate, provides critical instructions to those in the affected area(s). Examples of situations range from snowstorms to national emergencies that have a local impact.
PLEASE NOTE: The NU ALERT system broadcasts messages to the email addresses and telephone numbers that students, faculty and staff have provided the university. It’s important that the information is accurate and up to date. Students, faculty, and staff can change or update their contact information by logging into the portal at my.northeastern.edu and following the instructions. The information you provide is kept completely confidential and will only be used to provide updates to the NU ALERT system.
Past NU Alerts
A record of past timely warnings and NU Alert emergency notifications for our campus community can be found on Northeastern’s Police Department website.
