Collection

Specimens are collected and identified by scientists from academia, government, aquariums, and nonprofits around the world.

Preservation

OGL scientists extract and preserve tissue and DNA at our lab located on the Northeastern University Marine Science Center campus..

Storage

Samples are archived for long-term storage at OGL’s cryopreservation facility.

Distribution

Samples are made available to researchers around the world through our online catalog and contacting OGL.

OGL DNA Barcoding Service

In addition to archiving and distributing DNA and tissue samples, OGL offers DNA barcoding services upon request for a fee.
