Research & Teaching Interests
Professor Caligiuri’s previous teaching experience included a position at Rutgers University instructing Human Resource Management. She also served as the Director for the Center for Human Resource Strategy, an Associate/Assistant Professor of Human Resource Management, Co-Director, and Executive Master in the HR Leadership Program in Europe at Rutgers University. Her experience as a co-director also included a position with SDA Bocconi, where she also served as a Visiting Professor at the Università Bocconi in Milan, Italy. Her first teaching position was as a Research Assistant and Predoctoral Lecturer at Penn State University.
Industry & Academic Experience
As a consultant, Paula Caligiuri works extensively with leading organizations on topics related to the selection and development of culturally agile professionals. Across a wide range of industries, her clients include private sector, military, and non-profit organizations in the United States, Asia, Australia, and Europe. Prior to joining Northeastern University in 2013, Paula was a Professor in the Human Resource Management Department at Rutgers University, where she was the Director of the Center for Human Resource Strategy (CHRS) from 2001 until 2010 and Co-Director of the Executive Master in HR Leadership Program in Europe (a joint venture with with SDA Bocconi in Milan) from 2003 through 2005.
Services to the Profession
Paula Caligiuri serves as the HR Area Editor for the Journal of International Business Studies, Associate Editor for the International Journal of Human Resource Management, and as a Research Fellow with the E&Y Institute for Emerging Market Studies. Named as one of the most prolific authors in international business, Paula has authored or co-authored several articles and books. Paula’s academic publications include several articles in the International Journal of Human Resource Management, Journal of World Business, Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, and International Journal of Intercultural Relations. Paula is a frequent expert guest on CNN and CNN International.

Awarded (with Ibraiz Tarique) the Best Global Leadership Research published in 2013 by the Global Leadership Advancement Center.
Awarded (with Saba Colakoglu) the 2009 Best Paper in International Human Resource Management (2nd place) by the Academy of Management.
Awarded (with Guenter Stahl, Cheihwee Chua, Jean-Luc Cerdin, and Mami Taniguchi) the 2010 Best Paper in International Human Resource Management (2nd place) by the Academy of Management.
