Because technological entrepreneurship
resides the intersection of technology and business, it takes a
special school with the independence and ability to draw together
the expertise of different colleges and create a coherent program
focused on specifically on technological entrepreneurship. That's
what we've done and what you'll experience!
STE students learn to:
Start a high tech business,
Validate you technologies by evaluating markets,
Manage the Accounting and Finance functions in technology startups,
Capture your IP and create value for your company,
Get your customers, suppliers, and investors to pay attention to your story.
Need engineers and scientists who are customer facing and understand business issues, and
Need business people who appreciate the limitations of technology and know how to evaluate product potential.

STE offers both undergraduate
and graduate programs that teach students
how to create technology-based businesses, market science- and engineering-based
products and obtain the financing necessary to fund growth.
We cover important topics you must know to survive and thrive in
the technology-based business world, including intellectual property
rights, licensing and product development strategies.
This is an interdisciplinary program.
Classes are team-taught by faculty members from the colleges of
Engineering, Business Administration, Computer and Information Science
and Bouvé College of Health Sciences, giving you the varied
perspectives you need to compete in today’s market. Your class will be multicultural and multidisciplinary as well (See Student Stats).
The school's experiential
program aimed at commercializing technological ideas from students,
faculty and industry provides students with the opportunity to become
part of venture teams working in on-campus company like structures
as part of our I-cubators Program. We deliver as real and entrepreneurial experience on-campus as is possible.
