The nation's first stand-alone school providing real-world experience to ensure today's aspiring entrepreneur is driving tomorrow's technological innovation.

Because technological entrepreneurship resides the intersection of technology and business, it takes a special school with the independence and ability to draw together the expertise of different colleges and create a coherent program focused on specifically on technological entrepreneurship. That's what we've done and what you'll experience!

STE students learn to:

  • Start a high tech business,
  • Validate you technologies by evaluating markets,
  • Manage the Accounting and Finance functions in technology startups,
  • Capture your IP and create value for your company,
  • Get your customers, suppliers, and investors to pay attention to your story.

How you will apply this in your career:

  • We want you to start a business and our program is designed to help (Check out Student Start-ups)
  • Tech Sector Employers
    • Need engineers and scientists who are customer facing and understand business issues, and
    • Need business people who appreciate the limitations of technology and know how to evaluate product potential.
  • Career paths include
    • Product Management,
    • High Tech Marketing, and
    • Engineering management

STE offers both undergraduate and graduate programs that teach students how to create technology-based businesses, market science- and engineering-based products and obtain the financing necessary to fund growth. We cover important topics you must know to survive and thrive in the technology-based business world, including intellectual property rights, licensing and product development strategies.

This is an interdisciplinary program. Classes are team-taught by faculty members from the colleges of Engineering, Business Administration, Computer and Information Science and Bouvé College of Health Sciences, giving you the varied perspectives you need to compete in today’s market. Your class will be multicultural and multidisciplinary as well (See Student Stats).

The school's experiential program aimed at commercializing technological ideas from students, faculty and industry provides students with the opportunity to become part of venture teams working in on-campus company like structures as part of our I-cubators Program. We deliver as real and entrepreneurial experience on-campus as is possible.
