Telephone Service and Equipment services provide voice communication services to community via land line, traditional analog and digital telephone service, including delivery, flat rate, billing for voice.
Functionality/Benefits
The university campus telephone system is a Verizon’s Centrex system. This switch is conducive to large institution with multiple sites in a metropolitan area by providing a dedicated (373 or 377) exchange. The system provides basic and enhanced features which are delivered via analog and ISDN Lines. The system provides campus restricted, local, long distance and international dialing capabilities.

Service is available 24 x 7 x 365, except during planned maintenance and upgrades.
Support
Support is provided by Information Technology Services during normal university business hours of 8:30am – 4:30pm Monday – Friday. To obtain assistance with this service, please contact the Service Desk at 617.373.4357 (xHELP).
Charge

There is a monthly reoccurring phone line charge depending on the type of line and Level of Service (LOS).

  • Standard Line – $32/month
  • ISDN multi-line – $35/month
