This weekend, we were pleased to host over 200 prospective University Scholars and their families from all across the United States and world for our Welcome Event. Guests arrived on Sunday, attending tours and admissions sessions and taking trips to the "Top of the Hub" during the morning and early afternoon. From 2 to 4 PM, prospective Scholars joined our current Scholars for a peer-to-peer getting to know you event in the Cabot Gymnasium. Everyone had a wonderful time getting to know one another in a casual atmosphere.

In the evening, prospective Scholars and their guests enjoyed dinner at the Museum of Science with current Scholars, as well as faculty and staff from across the university. During dinner, prospective students and their families had the opportunity to get to ask Deans and Faculty Members about the many intellectual offerings of the university -- and enjoy a delicious meal. Afterwards, students returned to campus for a dessert reception in the Visitors Center, while parents, guardians, faculty and staff mingled over desserts in the museum.

On Monday, we hosted students and families for a series of information sessions about the Scholars Experience, life in the Colleges, and campus facilities. Students had the opportunity to take a master class with one of our leading professors and share lunch  as well with fellow students, current Scholars and their professors. We concluded the event with short remarks and a gift of Sheri Fink's First Pages book, "Five Days at Memorial" and a plush Husky.

Thank you to the students, parents and guardians who attended and gave us the opportunity to introduce you to Northeastern.
