Seeking Scholars NU Service Day Coordinators

Are you ready to get your hands dirty on NU Service Day?

Are you ready to get your hands dirty on NU Service Day?

We will be co-sponsoring (with great pride) this fall's NU Service Day, which will be held on October 24th.  As part of our partnership, the Center for Community Service has offered Scholars three leadership positions in the coordination of the event.

Two (2) Scholars NU Service Day Project Coordinators will be responsible for:

  • Site recruitment
  • Ongoing communication with sites
  • Information sheets for Team Leaders
  • Volunteer Recruitment
  • Managing event registration
  • Day-of-event assistance with setting-up and running the kick-off
  • Serving as a Team Leader for one of the project sites

One (1) Scholars/Service Day Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Breakfast and snack/lunch ordering
  • T-passes and transportation coordination
  • Tent rental
  • Volunteer recruitment
  • Krentzman Quad set-up and organization
  • Day-of-event assistance with setting-up and running the kick-off
  • Serving as a Team Leader for one of the project sites

Scholars will receive CEP hours for the service. Scholars NU Service Day Coordinators will also receive recognition at our end of year celebration.

Timeline and Commitment

August 3rd, 2015 – Staff in place

August – October – Weekly staff meeting (30 minutes)

Saturday, October 24th – Service Day

Week of November 2nd – Post-event wrap-up and evaluation

2-5  Hours a week, depending

Application, Due by Friday, May 22nd at 5 PM
