COVID-19 Tests

COVID-19 testing is now widely available in the United States, Canada and the UK, via at-home tests and programs offered at retail pharmacies and health centers. On our Boston campus, University Health and Counseling Services (UHCS) will make home-use rapid antigen tests available for faculty, students and staff upon request and free of charge after PCR testing ceases.

Who can get a rapid test from NU?

Current faculty, staff, and students may pick up a take home kit.

Where will the rapid test be available for pick up?

Faculty, staff, and students will be able to pick up a kit from UHCS 9:00AM -5:00PM Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:00AM – 8:00PM Tuesday and Thursday. UHCS is located at 70 Forsyth Street, Suite 135.

Is there a limit to the number of tests available to each participant?

One per week.

Are the results reported anywhere?

No. When you pick up your test, you will receive an email with information about what to do if you test positive. COVID-19 Isolation and Quarantine Guidance for the General Public
Isolation and quarantine are important steps to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

Will the participant notify Contact Tracing of a positive result?

No.

What information will be required for pick up?

Name, affiliation (faculty, staff, student), and Northeastern email address. We recommend that you bring your Northeastern University ID with you at pick-up.

My COVID-19 test is expired, can I still use it?

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) amended the expiration date of many COVID-19 tests. Northeastern University Boston offers tests through FlowFlex, who are included in the approved expiration date changes. Proof of Vaccination

Proof of vaccination is required for all U.S. or Canadian students, faculty and staff. More information can be found here.
