Northeastern is a global research university with a culture of working with businesses and nonprofits around the world. We’ve developed our eight research institutes and 30-plus research centers around challenges rather than academic disciplines, clearing the path for multidisciplinary collaborations with industry, government agencies, and academia.

We can also help you speed the transfer of research discoveries to the marketplace through joint project planning and management and flexible intellectual-property policies that benefit all partners.

Northeastern researchers have deep expertise in fields ranging from cybersecurity and robotics to nanomanufacturing and global resilience. As an R1 institution under the Carnegie Classification System, we are among U.S. universities with the highest level of research activity.
