Q. How did you get into the field of Project Management?
A. I got into the field of project management over time. I worked for a wonderful US healthcare company and over time they were looking to optimize all of their resource allocations to ensure they were maximizing the value of their investments. I began participating on project teams in a subject matter expert role and then became curious about the process of managing projects. In addition, I worked on large United States government contracts which began requiring project managers who were assigned to the contract to hold the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, issued by…

Q. How did you get into the field of Regulatory Affairs, Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology and Medical Device?
A. I started my professional career in the field of R&D, and earned a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology, studying the genetic mechanisms that convert B lymphocytes into lymphomas. From there I spent some time (in Toronto) in the field of genomics, and the utilization of next-generation DNA sequencing to assist clinicians in treating infectious diseases, including HIV, HPV and HCV. I then went to business school, and from there entered the medical device market on the commercial side of the business, specifically in the fields of marketing and reimbursement, where I spent the next ten years…

Q. How did you get into the field of Cybersecurity?
A. It was mostly due to my Computer Science background. In my Master program, I took a course of Cryptography and that was something that definitively captured my attention. I remember how surprised I was when I saw how cryptography has been evolving since the ancient Greeks to nowadays. And how this everlasting dialectical relation between Cryptography and Cryptoanalysis will exist forever.

What Employers Need
11/16/2016
Shortly after moving to Toronto to launch Northeastern University’s newest campus, I set out to have conversations with a range of companies and employers. Northeastern’s deep commitment to experiential learning demands a commitment and understanding of current employer needs. And the only way to understand the employer community is to get to know them. Our signature co-op program ensures that our students, and by extension their faculty, are very tuned into the current and emerging needs of the market. So, I got out of my office and started visiting managers, CEOs, tech start-ups, entrepreneurs, trade association representatives and, yes, other academics. My goal was to study my new city and to gain a deep understanding of what employers are looking for in college graduates.
