Financing Your Degree

Northeastern University-Toronto has secured a commitment from TD Canada Trust to provide student lines of credit to eligible Northeastern students on preferential terms. For details on this financing arrangement, please contact the Associate Director of Academic and Student Affairs, Evan Clarke, at e.clarke@northeastern.ca.

Students can also consider financing their degree through the Lifelong Learning Plan, an initiative of the Canadian federal government intended to encourage higher education and training. The LLP allows you to withdraw up to $10,000 a year from your registered retirement savings plan to finance training or education for you or your spouse or common-law partner.

Students whose existing academic credentials were earned outside of Canada may be eligible for a student loan of up to $15,000 CDN through Windmill Microlending, a non-profit charity. To find out whether you are eligible to apply for this financing option, see Windmill’s brief Eligibility Quiz or call toll-free at 1-855-423-2262.

MPOWER Financing provides scholarships and loans up to US$50,000 (approximately C$67,000) to high-promise students from around the world. To find out whether you are eligible, visit their website, call them at 647-503-4607 (Canada) or +91-974-099-3115 (India), or message them on WeChat at mpower_financing.
