Mac OS Updates

The Office of Information Security recommends enabling automatic updates for your Mac OS machine. Apple and Mac OS software companies push out updates to their systems to patch known software and security vulnerabilities. These patches will help prevent malware and other harm from affecting your Mac OS computer.

Enabling Automatic Updates makes sure you do not miss any critical updates.

Enable Automatic Software Updates

  1. Open ‘System Preferences’
  2. Select ‘Software Update’
  3. Select the box ‘Check for updates’ choose Weekly from the pull-down menu
  4. Select the box ‘Download updates automatically’
