Tips for Fall Semester

Tips for Fall Semester

Can you believe it’s almost time to return? Prepare yourself for a whole year of success with the following tips.

Is your personal information correct and up to date?

MyNortheastern is an electronic gateway for members of the Northeastern University community and offers an abundance of services targeted to members of the Northeastern community.

Most functions and services related to students’ academic experience at Northeastern (i.e., course registration, course schedule, student accounts, etc.) can be found under the Self-Service tab.

Students are advised to update their personal information, such as their address and emergency contact numbers here.

Students can also use their myNortheastern account to access their student “Husky email” account (hosted by Gmail). Students are encouraged to check their Husky email regularly.

Parking at NU-Seattle

As the Seattle campus continues to grow, so too does the surrounding area. Unfortunately, such rapid growth can mean that finding parking can be quite challenging. However, there are some resources available to make your commute more manageable.

We strongly encourage visiting our campus via public transit, biking, rideshare, taxi, or other shared forms of alternate transportation, as parking is extremely limited in the South Lake Union area.

If you do use a vehicle, we recommend building in extra time to seek area parking.

The Northeastern University-Seattle campus is easily accessed via the following modes of public transportation:

Street and off-street parking is also available when visiting the Seattle campus. Suggested parking is located at the 321 Terry Ave. N. and 320 Westlake Ave. N. garages, which can be accessed from the alley between Harrison Street and Thomas Street.

You can also find parking at Parkopedia or the South Lake Union Parking Guide (pdf).

Keep all personal items secure while on campus.

Theft is one of the most common crimes students face on campus, so students should always make securing their valuables a priority. Laptop and phone thefts are becoming increasingly common on college campuses, so either study with a friend who can watch your personal belongings if you step away or take any valuables with you.

At Northeastern University–Seattle, we are committed to ensuring the safety of our students while they are on campus. However, it is important for students to be aware of their surroundings on campus to ensure a positive college experience.

Please display your Husky ID at all times

Any student entering the Northeastern University–Seattle campus must display their Husky ID card. A lanyard will be supplied to all students (students may use their own lanyard).

Students who have misplaced their Husky ID must have a replacement Husky ID printed at a cost of $25.

All visitors must be signed in at the front desk.
