Spend a semester in one of the most breathtakingly beautiful landscapes in the United States. Urban ambition and natural grandeur have been cohabiting in the Seattle area since the nineteenth century. This historic Western landscape has been the locale of the Gold Rush of the 1890s, the internment of Japanese citizens in the 1940s, the eruption of protests against the World Trade Organization at the turn of this century, and the recent controversial transformation of the city by major corporations such as Amazon and Microsoft.
