New scholarship offers ‘full circle’ experience for Peace Corps, AmeriCorps volunteers

There are over 100,000 Americans entering non-traditional post-graduate experiences each year such as Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, and Teaching ELL abroad. These unique experiences develop skill sets and passions that are valuable in both work and education.

Universities in Washington State produce a high number of Peace Corps volunteers each year, with 5 institutions – University of Washington, Western Washington University, Gonzaga University, University of Puget Sound and Evergreen State College – toping the list of highest volunteer-producing schools.

A new opportunity from Northeastern University, called The Full Circle Scholarship, offers a 25% tuition discount to graduate applicants who embody Northeastern’s values of experiential and global learning. Applicants who have completed a term of service with the Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, Teach for America, or have spent 1-year abroad volunteering or teaching English Language Learners (ELL), could be eligible.

You dedicated your time to give back to the world, now let us give back to you. – Learn about The Full Circle Scholarship

“Because you chose to do something different and embark on a service-driven path, you gained new skills and valuable knowledge, and returned inspired,” said Bryan Fouquet, Assistant Director of Admissions at Northeastern University–Seattle. “The Full Circle Scholarship is designed to make sure you can continue your journey and stay inspired.”

After spending years abroad, often times the most difficult part of the journey for a volunteer is the transition to life back home. The Full Circle Scholarship provides an opportunity to translate the skills and knowledge acquired into a career that matters through Northeastern’s industry-aligned graduate degree programs.
