The term epimeleisthai in ancient Greek can be translated as “caring about”, “valuing”, or “giving attention to”. Because this term can be used in various contexts, this research includes critically analyzing texts, and categorizing them as to how the Greek term is being used. This research is important for academic work in Greek literature and philosophy because it gives insight into how those in ancient Greek conceptualized valuing or caring for something, whether it be a physical object, or a human value or morality as a whole.
