Through qualitative, participant-observation research and trend analysis, this project began to chart the scope of work produced across the global theatre community after the immediate onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The work studied was predominately delivered in a virtual format, however their was a wide range of mediums utilized. As artists within the theatre community adapted, performances became shorter in length and interactive in order to engage audiences and draw a distinction between theatre and film. Theatre has historically been marketed to a white, upper-class audiences and performances via the digital landscape failed to expand accessibility to other audiences.
