3D Printing Studio Snell Library

Research Category: Interdisciplinary Topics, Centers and Institutes
Presenter: Richard Ranky

The brand new 3D Printing studio in Snell Library has recently come online and is open to projects and builds with any and all collages on campus. Prototyping early ideas for ventures, creating educational models, and assisting with specialized fabrication for research are part of the studio's ongoing efforts.

There are seven 3D printers of varying specialization and technical capability, a desktop 3D scanner, and a laser cutter. Samples and demos will be on-site to show students, faculty, and friends of NU what is available for them. There are free monthly workshops as well to teach and train anyone who wants to learn about the technologies available.

Volunteers interested in helping others with projects are also welcome.

There are currently 2 ventures from Northeastern residing in the space to develop their hardware: 3-Spark LLC and Zephyr Energy Corp.
