Currently serving as Vice President of Research and Development at St. Jude Medical in the field of Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) and Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR). Medical Device Executive with over 20 years’ experience. Start-up, mid-size, and large company experiences with an emphasis of building strong engineering and operational teams. Broad experience in large and small multinational corporations (Bard, Boston Scientific, Novoste, Terumo, and Maquet). Successfully managed teams in both US and Overseas. Strong commercialization experience building companies from the ground up. Successfully commercialized high complexity (disposables, hardware and software) medical devices (510K, PMA, CE Mark, and PMDA). Medical device experience includes surgical devices (Cardio-Thoracic), non-active and active Implantable (Congestive heart failure, LVAD/LVAS), percutaneous coronary interventions (Angiography, Angioplasty, Brachytherapy, OCT, and FFR), peripheral artery disease and thoracic aortic aneurysm (TAA Stent Grafts).
Strong understanding of quality systems (ISO 13485, & FDA). Successfully managed highly skilled talent (VP’s, Directors, scientists, designers, and engineers). M.Sc., Plastics Engineering from University of Massachusetts.
