Rob Knochenhauer is a strong technical leader with 15+ years’ experience in complex electromechanical systems, primarily unmanned vehicles (ground, sea and air). Mr. Knochenhauer excels at guiding multidisciplinary teams of mechanical, electrical and software engineers to conceptualize, design, build and evaluate practical electromechanical systems in response to novel challenges. Mr. Knochenhauer’s experience includes deep technical expertise in component and systems design engineering as well as the business acumen needed to successfully manage programs, build partnerships, author proposals, and win new business.
Now with GreenSight Agronomics, Mr. Knochenhauer is enjoying a new challenge in working in a growing startup to introduce a revolutionary new tool for turfgrass managers to efficiently apply resources (water & chemical treatments) through frequent assessments via a fully automated drone flying daily over the crop. To realize this goal, Mr. Knochenhauer has fostered a relationship with the FAA to acquire numerous airspace authorizations and a Beyond Visual Line Of Sight waiver to remotely pilot a fielded drone in Arizona from GreenSight’s HQ in Boston.
