Kurt Lockwood is a Senior Principal attorney with the IP law firm KDB pllc, where his practice includes portfolio management, strategic counseling, and transactional work. Although Kurt represents clients across a range of industries and technologies, he has particular expertise with medical devices. Prior to KDB, Kurt spent 12 years as a group vice-president and chief patent counsel at Boston Scientific Corporation, a global medical device company, where he lead an intellectual property legal team in support of the Endoscopy, Urology & Pelvic Health divisions. Kurt was a member of the divisional project investment and management boards, developing and executing strategies to grow and enforce worldwide IP portfolios. He also oversaw all IP aspects of numerous acquisitions, investments and divestitures, and managed offensive and defensive IP litigation and EU opposition proceedings. Kurt began his legal career as an associate with the IP firm Cushman Darby & Cushman, in Washington, D.C., and then with the general practice firm Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault, in Boston. He has a BS degree in Chemistry from Syracuse University and is a graduate of Vanderbilt Law School.
