Josh works at CIMIT, Consortia for Integrating Medical with Innovation & Technology, accelerating the commercialization of research projects. He is a past Managing Director of Ironwood Equity Fund, a later stage venture investor. Josh founded and managed Seedling Enterprises, considered one of the most successful medical device accelerators.
Josh founded ACT Medical, a premier med-device developer and manufacturer. Josh was head of R&D for Medi-Tech, which became Boston Scientific.
He currently is a Director of numerous for-profit companies. He is the past chair of MassMedic, the 400 company industry trade group and an advisor and lecturer in the Harvard-MIT program in Health Sciences and Technology. He is the founding board chair of Interise, a non-profit helping small urban companies grow, now in over 75 US cities.
Josh has an A.B. from Harvard College and an MS from MIT.
Josh lives in Brookline, MA with his wife, Ann Connolly Tolkoff, the co-founder of City on a Hill Charter School. They have 3 children and 5 grandchildren.
