Jay is Founder & Chief Navigator at Astrolabe Partners, a consultancy that helps companies develop strategies that transform product and service concepts into successful businesses. His diverse experience spans a variety of business and consumer markets, including consumer goods and services, digital health, enterprise software, IoT, electronics, cleantech, medical device, CRM, electronics and security.
Prior to Astrolabe Partners, Jay co-founded two tech startups (Twyxter & Emo Labs) and was on the senior management team of five others. With a career that started in Marketing at P&G and PepsiCo, Jay has expertise in taking concepts from the idea stage through evaluation, development, go-to-market planning and launch. During his career, he has been responsible for the development, planning and launch of nearly 100 new products and services.
Jay is active as an advisor and mentor to a wide range of startups and early stage companies. He currently teaches Entrepreneurship & Business Planning at Tufts and has been serving as a mentor and judge for multiple entrepreneurship programs, including MassChallenge, MassChallengePULSE, the CleanTech Open, Tufts, Northeastern, BU, Babson and the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program. Jay received an MBA from Dartmouth College and a BA in Economics from Tufts University,
