Eben P. Berry Sr., a business minded cyber veteran with 29 years of progressive cyber experience who continuously looks to apply his knowledge, skills and social capital focused on social entrepreneurship innovations.
Mr. Berry currently works at The MITRE Corporation as a Principal Cybersecurity Engineer focused on innovation, research and providing practical solutions in serving our public interests across our nation’s most critical challenges in defense and intelligence, aviation, civil systems, homeland security, the judiciary, healthcare, and cybersecurity.
Mr. Berry is the former CISO of a multi-billion dollar healthcare insurance firm and an inspired social entrepreneur centered on macro-level changes in our global society. His most recent innovations center on enabling a Cyber Safe Society™. Mr. Berry founded Cyber Inspectors® LLC that provided expert guidance to C-level executives and investors enabling them to protect their organization’s value through new cyber safe practice methods and greater organizational preparedness in minimizing business impacts to cyber-attacks.
He is the inventor of the Digital Termite® indicator, Growing Secure Business® maturity model and a new SaaS-based human cyber-intelligence analytics platform known at Cyberthenics™. Although Mr. Berry has cultivated his leadership skills and strategy across varying sized non-profits, for profits and military organizations he believes his technical competencies also enables him to be a better innovator, thought leader and problem solver. He competed in a 2013 National Cyber Aces Competition where he ranked in the top 1% out of 10,000 registrants.
Mr. Berry received his Executive MBA from D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University applying business concepts directly to the challenges of cyber security. He led the graduate cyber security curriculum for Clark University’s Masters of Information Technology where he taught as an adjunct professor. He served on the cyber security education advisory board at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
He also served on the Mass Insight Advanced Cyber Security Center (ACSC) steering committee as a cyber-healthcare advisor building a cross-sector research facility that addressed industry and policy cyber challenges. Mr. Berry was nominated by Executive Alliance for the Information Security Executive of the year award.
