Recently, in 2019, Dr. Brown Joined Zapata Computing as Director of Quantum Solutions with responsibility for customer relations and managing the relationship between sales and technical teams. Further Dr. Brown is taking on the responsibility as General Manager Asia as we expand and build our business overseas. Dr. Brown has extensive experience commercializing electronic materials have worked in a variety of roles in the OLED industry at Eastman Kodak Company, Kateeva Incorporated, Rogers Corporation, Kyulux Corporation and Plextronics Incorporated.
Dr. Brown earned two BS degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry in 1990 from the State University of New York at Stony Brook while serving as a founder for the Biochemical Society and working summers at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory for luminaries including Prof. Sue Hockfield and Tom Peterson while supporting a variety of projects and summer training programs. In his senior year, Dr. Brown was the host for the Nobel Laureate James D. Watson’s lecture on the Human Genome Project. Dr. Brown earned a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Texas at Austin in 1997. Today, he is an active member of the Society of Information Displays, the American Chemical Society, and is regularly asked to referee journal articles.
Over his career, Dr. Brown has demonstrated professional growth and development, evidenced by regular advancement and increasing professional responsibilities Dr. Brown has been granted 33 US patents (83 globally) with 13 pending patent US applications, 34 publications, and has given numerous presentations spanning topics such as synthetic organic chemistry, organic light emitting diodes, organic photovoltaics, field-effect transistors, photochemistry, electron transfer model systems and photographic chemicals.
