Dr. Lund is Chief Technology Officer at Xtalic Corporation, a company he co-founded in 2005 with Prof. Christopher Schuh of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Xtalic designs new metals and alloys with unique nanocrystalline structures using an MIT-developed materials design toolkit. Dr. Lund guides all aspects of technology development at Xtalic, including the tailoring of new materials and their transfer from the beaker scale to industrial implementation.

Dr. Lund’s is a metallurgist by training. He received degrees in Materials Science from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (BS) and Northwestern University (PhD), and spent three years as a post-doctoral researcher at MIT.
