International Student Orientation

College of Professional Studies (CPS)- Graduate Students

We will be communicating important information about your international student status; therefore, your attendance is mandatory.

International Student Orientation for Graduate CPS Students:

When: September 13th, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm

Please note this is different from the CPS Orientation Session for all CPS Students. As an International CPS student, you are REQUIRED to attend both.

College of Professional Studies (CPS)- Undergraduate Students

International Student Orientation for Undergraduate CPS Students:

When: August 31st, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

Please note this is different from the CPS Orientation Session for all CPS Students. As an International CPS student, you are REQUIRED to attend both.

Undergraduate Students- International Session at Orientation

During the two-day mandatory Student Orientation on August 29-30, we will host a presentation for international students, which you are also required to attend. Staff from OGS will share important information about adjusting to life in the US and maintaining your F-1 status.

Graduate Students (Boston Campus), Non-CPS

We are planning International Graduate Student Orientation programs to welcome you to campus, and help you learn more about being an international student at Northeastern!

Students from the following schools will receive information about orientation directly from the department as the international student orientation is part of the department orientation:

  • NU School of Law (LLM only)

For the following schools, there is a department orientation and a separate international student orientation. Both are compulsory/mandatory.

  • College of Engineering
  • College of Computer and Information Science
  • College of Social Sciences and Humanities
  • College of Arts, Media and Design
  • College of Science
  • D’Amore-McKim School of Business
  • Bouvé College of Health Sciences
  • NU School of Law (JD only)

We will have six international graduate student orientation dates. Students from the colleges above are required to choose and register for one orientation session listed on the right.

 

Undergraduate Airport Pick-up

Move-in day is August 28th.  You should plan to arrive on this day.  If you have already booked your flight to arrive on August 26th or 27th, we will have shuttles available from Boston Logan International Airport to help you. To request a pick up, please click below to register.

The airport pick-up service will only be available on August 26th, 27th, and 28th. If you are traveling on any other date, or if you are coming with your family, please see transportation options below.

Taxi services are readily available at Ground Transportation as soon as you exit the baggage claim area. There are also a variety of ride-sharing options that can help you get from Boston Logan Airport to Northeastern University, including Uber and Lyft. The On-Airport Shuttle and the MBTA are other options you may explore. Please note that we do not endorse these companies, we are just listing them as options for your convenience.

Northeastern University participates in the MBTA semester pass program offered for the Fall and Spring semesters.  Passes can be purchased during specific times of the year through the student myNortheastern portal.
