Overview Objectives
Master of Business Administration Gain a solid foundation in the fundamentals of business and prepare yourself to succeed in a global marketplace. Our core courses will further develop your skills and enhance your knowledge across all areas of business; our electives focus on the most important issues facing the contemporary business landscape. Develop the vital knowledge, skills, and expertise you need to accelerate your career; and customize your MBA by selecting one of our eight specializations: Finance, Healthcare Management, High Technology Management, Entrepreneurship, International Management, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, and Sustainability.
Master of Science in Corporate and Organizational Communication Incorporating best practices, case studies, research into the latest communication trends, and interactive learning formats, the Master of Science in Corporate and Organizational Communication addresses complex challenges critical to effective communication. From communicating with multicultural teams to assessing the impact of social media campaigns, the program’s core courses, taught by instructors who are experienced communication professionals, examine topics that are critical to organizational communication in the digital era. Complementing this degree’s core courses are program concentrations in Human Resources, Human Services, Leadership, Project Management, Social Media and Online Communities, and Sport and Social Change—enabling you to focus your graduate studies in the area that best matches your interests and career objectives. Enhance your personal communication skills; examine negotiation, facilitation, and mediation best practices; develop intercultural communication skills and techniques; analyze communication ethics and the issues they present; and cultivate a supportive communication climate.
Master of Science in Leadership The call for capable leaders is on the rise. Not surprisingly, employers are increasingly evaluating leadership skills as part of the interview process. Professionals who possess strong decision-making, organizational, and people skills will be well positioned to succeed in leadership roles. The Master of Science in Leadership provides the foundation necessary to meet these evolving challenges by helping cultivate a personal leadership philosophy. Complementing the program’s core courses are concentrations in areas such as Project Management, Human Resources, and Organizational Communications, providing you with content-specific expertise. Master of Science in Nonprofit Management Designed for individuals who wish to pursue a management or leadership position in the nonprofit sector, the Master of Science in Nonprofit Management offers a comprehensive perspective on the social, legal, cultural, and organizational issues that impact today’s nonprofit organizations. Integrating theoretical approaches with practical application, the program’s core curriculum covers areas such as nonprofit law, finance, fundraising, human resources, and grant and report writing. Complementing the core courses are degree concentrations in areas such as Global Studies, Human Services, Leadership, Organizational Communication, Project Management, Social Media, and Sports, allowing you to connect your studies with personal and career learning objectives. Explore leadership practices that contribute to organizational success; understand legal and governance issues in nonprofit organizations; hone your fundraising skills, including grant and proposal writing; recognize important social, organizational, and cultural change agents; discover traditional and nontraditional ways to promote nonprofits to supporters, the public, and the media; and analyze national and international trends, issues, and political shifts affecting the nonprofit marketplace.
Master of Science in Project Management In today’s fast-paced business environment, companies succeed or fail based on their ability to bring quality products and services to market on time, on budget, and within specifications. Organizations in every industry recognize this, and a resulting shortage of talent has created expansive career opportunities for knowledgeable project managers. The Master of Science in Project Management is designed to provide you with the theoretical concepts and practical skills you need to lead complex projects successfully—from initial planning, budgeting, and negotiations through project oversight and final evaluation. Complementing the degree curriculum are concentrations that enable you to expand your knowledge within your field of interest. Effectively manage multiple, sometimes interrelated, complex projects; implement enterprise-level project portfolio management (PPM) based upon an organization’s strategic business goals; avoid common project management pitfalls; and develop metrics for determining and reporting project performance.
