The Online Course Design Orientation is designed to both familiarize faculty with formats and conventions of online learning and to empower participants to design and develop an online course based on principles of learning science. Activities in the program scaffold the development of a framework of an online course, and help faculty design engaging instructional activities, feedback and assessments that capitalize on the online environment.
This self-directed program consists of 8 modules that include both content and activities. The activities assume that participants will be working on the design of a specific course. We suggest that faculty contact a CATLR consultant twice during the course of the program to review progress.
