Health Ranking

3.12.19 — Northeastern University School of Law advanced to the top 10 law schools for health care law in U.S. News & World Report’s 2020 rankings, released today. The law school was ranked no. 9 for 2020, up from no. 14 in the 2019 rankings.

“Northeastern’s leadership in health law stems from a dynamic, interdisciplinary approach that combines research in a wide range of areas — including public health law, health and human rights, health governance, health care financing, drug law, intellectual property, bioethics, health care delivery law and the regulation of health care systems — with practical strategies for improving the health of individuals and communities,” said Professor Wendy Parmet, faculty director of the Center for Health Policy and Law. “But what really makes our program unique, is our people. Our center is comprised of 15 core faculty members from the School of Law and other colleges at Northeastern, as well as an impressive roster of affiliated faculty, and student health law scholars. At Northeastern, health law is not just another subject. We see it as inextricably connected to our public interest mission.”

In addition to offering a broad curriculum in health and public health law, the Center for Health Policy and Law hosts conferences, lectures, colloquia, events and workshops that introduce students to career opportunities in the growing field of health law and policy. The school also offers a concentration in health policy and law, as well as two dual-degree MPH programs, with Northeastern’s Bouvé College of Health Science and Tufts University School of Medicine.
