Debbie Ramirez7.12.16 —  In light of recent episodes of police violence and the subsequent retaliation, Congressman John Conyers has invited Professor Ramirez to participate in a roundtable discussion on police strategies.  She will be working with a select group of House Judiciary Committee members, agency experts and civil rights advocates on pivotal legislation to mandate funding of racial profiling data collection and police cameras. The meeting will also go over additional justice reform tactics, such as the as the proposal to require police carry personal liability insurance. The goal of the meeting is to review current pending legislation and plan a public hearing on the issue in September.
