03.18.13 — This past weekend three members of the Latin American Law Student Association (LALSA — Danielle Gordet '13, Anielka Sanchez Godinez '13 and Nicole Rasimas '13 —competed in the Uvaldo Herrera National Moot Court Competition, hosted by the Hispanic National Bar Association. The event, held in Atlanta, Georgia, took place over two days. Thirty law schools participated, including teams from Columbia University, Fordham University, American University, New York University and the University of Pennsylvania. The competition was based upon the constitutional law question of whether a warrant is required before police may conduct a blood test on an individual suspected of driving while intoxicated. The case was modeled after a case currently before the United States Supreme Court. LALSA’s team finished in the top 8 for Overall Performance and took second place for Best Respondent’s Brief.
