On September 15, 2017, over 150 colleagues, graduates, friends and family members attended a retirement celebration for Professors Mary O'Connell '75 and Millie Drew '87 at the Fenway Center. The evening began with hors d'oeuvres and cocktails as the gathering toasted the retiring faculty members. Mary retired after 37 years with NUSL, following a successful career that began as clerk to the Supreme Judicial Court of Maine and was followed by a stint at Foley Hoag and Eliot. Millie joined the law school faculty in 1997, following her role as assistant professor at Elms College. She also had a separate career as a nurse, where she directed substance abuse programs. Both beloved faculty members trained many bright, brilliant NUSL students over the years and supported them when they needed an extra push. Six speakers shared their fond memories and encouraging stories about Mary and Millie and the duo were sent off with lots of good wishes and cheers.
