Bill Murphy is a senior research scientist at KRI. His technical specialty is synthetic organic chemistry. His vision is to build classified and unclassified agile research programs serving the defense, intelligence, and homeland security communities.
Murphy spent two and a half years at Analytic Services, where he supported both DTRA and DHS. Previously, he served as a program and laboratory director at SRI International for almost 15 years. Before SRI, he spent nearly 10 years at the Central Intelligence Agency, where he worked in the Office of Research and Development as a program director and deputy division chief before finishing as the deputy chief scientist of the Arms Control Intelligence staff.
Murphy holds a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a doctorate in chemistry from Columbia University. He was a postdoctoral research scientist at Stanford University.
