New Software Updates Available

Start your New Year off organized and focused with the latest software updates! Check out all the latest and upgraded versions of software available to the Northeastern community in ITS-managed labs, on Faculty/Staff Northeastern-managed computers and for local installation.

New Software

New Operating Systems for Windows and Mac – New Windows computers will have Windows 10 as the installed operating system and new Macs will have Sierra, MacOS 10.12. If you are using a Windows computer currently on Windows 7, that operating system will continue to be supported. To get the newest operating system on an existing computer, contact the ITS Service Desk at 617.373.4357 (xHELP) and ask to have your computer reimaged.

IBM SPSS Modeler – Available on all Northeastern-Managed Windows and Mac computers, both Faculty/Staff desktops and labs, via Software Downloads from myNEU, and for local installation on non-Northeastern-managed and university-owned machines by submitting a ServiceNow request to the ITS Service Desk.


Software Version Updates

  • IBM SPSS – Available on all Northeastern-Managed Windows and Mac computers, both Faculty/Staff desktops and labs, via Software Downloads from myNEU, and for local installation on non-Northeastern-managed and university-owned machines by submitting a ServiceNow request to the ITS Service Desk
  • IBM Amos – Available on all Northeastern-Managed Windows and Mac computers, both Faculty/Staff desktops and labs, via Software Downloads for Faculty/Staff and Students for personal use from myNEU, and for local installation on non-Northeastern-managed and university-owned machines by submitting a ServiceNow request to the ITS Service Desk.
  • FileMaker Pro – Available on Northeastern-Managed Windows and Mac computers only.
  • LabVIEW – Available for local installation on university-owned machines by submitting a ServiceNow request to the ITS Service Desk
  • MiniTab and MiniTab Express – Available on all Northeastern-Managed Windows and Mac computers, both Faculty/Staff desktops and labs.
  • Respondus Test Creator – Available on Northeastern-Managed Faculty computers and via Software Downloads from myNEU.

Additional titles will be available as they are tested and deployed. Check the Available Software charts for Faculty/Staff Standard Configuration or Labs, Classrooms and Individual Access to find the title you wish to use.

*NOTE: If you are a faculty or staff member on a managed computer and are not seeing the latest software updates in Start or Software Center on Windows, or in Applications of Self Service on Mac, you may want to consider having your computer reimaged.
