Per the Chancellor’s email on April 2, 2020, all Summer 2 courses will be delivered online.
At this time, the university will offer Summer 2 housing only to students hired for Boston-based co-op positions that cannot be done remotely. Summer 2 housing for this group of students will be assigned in accordance with social distancing and large gatherings guidance from public health officials. Additional restrictions regarding guests, visitors, move-in, dining, and other university resources will apply. More information will be provided in the coming weeks, as the planning and relevant public health guidelines continue to evolve.
As all Summer 2 courses will be online, and in order to comply with social distancing guidelines in our residence halls, housing will not be available to students other than those with Boston-based co-op positions.
HOW DO I APPLY FOR HOUSING?
Students hired for Boston-based co-op positions that cannot be done remotely who are interested in Summer 2 housing, must re-apply through Housing Online beginning Wednesday, April 15, 2020.
Housing and Residential Life will confirm your co-op placement and will notify you when your Summer 2 housing has been confirmed. No additional Summer 2 housing deposit will be required, and all previous housing deposit will automatically be refunded.
HOW DO I SELECT A ROOM?
You will be placed by Preference Form which you can fill out on your Housing Online under the Summer II "Status" page. The Preference Form will be available May 20th on Housing Online. We recommend all students with confirmed co-op positions in Boston apply by this date.
- If your fall assignment is available, then we will try to assign you to that space while still following social distancing recommendations.
- If your fall assignment is in a closed building or you are not returning for the fall, you will be assigned based upon your preferences listed on your Preference Form.
WHAT WILL MY CHOICES BE?
Because there are less students in university housing for the summer, not every building remains open. Specific buildings and rates will be determined closer to the placement process based on social distancing and large gathering guidelines from public health officials.
