First & Required SEcond yearS

Since you are required to live in university housing and you are living here for the fall, you will automatically be assigned to the same bedspace, for the full academic year.

I want to change my room for Spring (Spring Reassignment Process)

The Spring Reassignment form will be available on your Housing Online. Filling out the form will register students for a meeting with a staff member to discuss availability. Room Reassignments from Fall to Spring can be accommodated on a very limited basis. If you have a friend with a vacancy in their room you must fill out this form so we can review the requests on a case by case basis. 

  • Form Available:  Mid October
  • Form Due: The Following week (Second years, the form remains open after this date)
  • Appointments: Late October

Please Note: Any student who participates in Spring Reassignment must completely move out of their space at the end of the Fall  semester and will move back in during Spring Move-in

I have a vacancy in my room/suite/apartment

If you are requesting to either fill a vacancy within your suite/apartment or pull a friend into that vacancy, these requests will be reviewed on a case by case basis. Any request for a student with out a spring assignment to be pulled must be emailed to housing@northeastern.edu in Mid-October. If the your friend currently lives in university housing, they will need to request a reassignment.

I am an N.U.in Student

N.U.in students receive information about housing in October. You will be able to indicate your housing priorities through a preference form; you will be assigned based upon your preferences in enrollment deposit date order. Assignments will be sent to your Husky email account starting in mid-to-late December.

Upperclassmen

i currently live IN UNIVERSITY HOUSING

I have applied and paid my deposit:

If you are living in university housing for fall, you will automatically be assigned to the same bedspace for the spring term. If you would like to either change rooms to a vacancy within your apartment or pull a friend to that vacancy, please carefully review your assignment email sent to your husky account in Mid-October and follow directions accordingly. Any request must be submitted following the directions in that email. Please note, students on the Spring waitlist are not eligible.

If you have a friend with a vacancy in their room you must make the request via this form so that requests can be reviewed on a case by case basis. 

  • Form Available: Mid-October
  • Form Due: The following week. (the form will remain open, however after this date, you will receive an appointment time with in 3 business days)
  • Appointments: Late October

I have not paid my deposit:

Applications and deposits for Spring are due in January at the same time as Fall; after Fall selection we accept applications and deposits on a rolling basis until we reach capacity for the Spring term. Students who miss the application and/or deposit deadlines waive any guarantee of housing for that term. When we reach capacity we move to a waitlist

If in January, you think you may need university housing for the following spring, place a deposit by the deadline and follow the cancellation deadline schedule.

Students with a housing application and housing deposit for Spring 2021 will be able to participate in Spring Selection.

If you have a friend IN UNIVERSITY HOUSING who has a vacancy in their apartment: 

Your friend will need to follow the pull-in directions in their assignment email. Requests must be sent via email and will be reviewed on a case by case basis and will be approved on a limited basis. 

If you want to select a room during The Room Selection Process: 

Please go to Housing Online to submit your PAWS Placement Form now! Indicating your top preferences is extremely important for us to best complete your housing assignment. All PAWS Placement Forms should be submitted by the deadline. The PAWS Placement Form is a normal part of our Housing Selection and Placement Process. Last year, all students returning for Spring 2021 were also placed through the PAWS Placement Form process.

Assignments will be made on an ongoing basis beginning in early December through the first week in January. Assignments will be completed in selection number order, in conjunction with your preferences and the spaces available.
