As a Sophomore Biology/Pre-Med student, I had the opportunity to participate in a medical mission to the Dominican Republic with graduate members of the nursing school over this past spring break.
It’s been quite a wild adventure, my international nursing co-op to Lima, Peru. I chose Peru for its rich history and diverse culture, but I never imagined that I would fall in love with Peruvian life.
Throughout 2012, I visited rural intentional communities in Massachusetts, California, Arizona, Jamaica and Brazil.
Overall, it appeared as though the Slow Food Movement was revolutionizing fast food, rather than the other way around.
