Service Learning for Honors Courses

The Honors Program strongly encourages all faculty teaching Honors courses to integrate service learning in their curriculum. Service-learning (S-L) is a form of experiential learning involving partnerships between faculty-led academic courses and community-based organizations. Through these partnerships, students engage in hands-on service roles and projects by which they learn about and apply course concepts while intentionally addressing the needs/interests identified by our community partners. To help faculty integrate S-L in their course, the Honors Program has secured the support of the Office of Service Learning at Northeastern. Please email Dr. Becca Berkey, Associate Director & Service-Learning Coordinator, to set up an individualized consultation.
