The Honors Program enables faculty across campus to bring Honors students into their research and creative endeavors. Open to first and second-year Honors students in all fields, Honors Early Research Awards offer undergraduate Honors students the opportunity to participate as research/lab/production/studio assistants with Northeastern faculty conducting cutting-edge research or creative endeavors. As part of this initiative, each student may propose a budget of up to $1,000 that can be applied towards additional research materials, tools, software, etc.
The University Honors Program identifies potential faculty partners before the start of fall, spring and summer terms. Faculty members seeking to participate in this program should submit a proposal through the Office of Undergraduate Research & Fellowships.
Once the faculty application is approved, the Honors Program will communicate the available opportunities to students. Honors students will then apply directly to faculty members through an online form. Lastly, faculty will independently select the students among available candidates and communicate their decision to the Honors Program in order to receive the funds. The Honors Program will then administer the notification process and awarding of funds.
