This innovative, multidisciplinary program is designed to meet the demand for a new kind of specialist: one who can engineer new interactive services, acquire, fuse, and process the data collected from sensors, actuators, controllers, and other devices, and develop architectures to interconnect these elements as part of larger, more diverse systems.

Careers in this rapidly evolving area are expected to encompass industry sectors ranging from energy, healthcare, transportation, and infrastructure to manufacturing. Graduates will have an understanding of the range of IoT technologies, architectures, and solutions applicable to different domains. They'll have the opportunity to develop skills and gain knowledge in areas such as data analytics, security, IoT architecture, and distributed application development

According to experts, the IoT will consist of about 20 billion connected "things" by 2020. As you will be one of the few professionals with IoT expertise, you'll be prepared to assist companies at the forefront as they begin to adopt this new technology, and beyond that, into the future—from engineering new interactive services and processing and analyzing data to interconnecting different types of devices in very large, diverse systems. Experiential Learning
