Overview

Northeastern’s Galante Engineering Business program offers a progressive, multidegree opportunity for engineering students to complement their technical engineering education with business skills. The result is the potential for a three-degree program in which students leverage courses across BS, MS, and MBA curricula to achieve a unique set of technical, engineering management, and business skills while earning a certificate and potentially three degrees (BS/MS/MBA) from Northeastern University.

Program participants will also benefit from regular access to and participation in specially designed programmatic elements such as workshops, speaker series, site visits, seminars, and other related personal and professional development activities as a connected cohort. Each participant creates an individualized personal development plan to combine available programmatic elements into a unique co-curricular set of activities to complement coursework. Because of the co-curricular programmatic elements, this program is intended for full-time on-campus students.

This program is offered only to Northeastern University undergraduate students.

Benefits of Becoming a Galante Fellow:

  • Galante Fellows will earn a master’s degree, as well as an Engineering Business Certificate
  • Students may transfer up to four Galante courses to be applied toward a Northeastern MBA
  • The program provides a strong business-based engineering curriculum, offering programmatic enrichment and professional development events each semester
  • Galante courses count toward the master’s degree and the business certificate
  • Students benefit from the camaraderie of a connected cohort

Eligibility:

  • Minimum 3.40 GPA

  • BS in Engineering from Northeastern University

  • Admitted to one of these graduate programs:

    • Engineering Management

    • Industrial Engineering

    • Operations Research

    • Data Analytics Engineering

    • Construction Management

    • Chemical Engineering

Note: Galante Fellows are expected to regularly attend events and actively contribute to the program. Therefore, it is recommended that you have at least two semesters left in order to complete the program requirements.

Experiential Learning

Northeastern combines rigorous academics with experiential learning and research to prepare students for real-world engineering challenges. The cooperative education program, also known as “co-op,” is one of the largest and most innovative in the world, and Northeastern is one of only a few that offers the co-op program for graduate students pursuing an MS or PhD. Through this program, students gain professional industry experience in their field of interest as part of the academic curriculum while employed from four to eight months in a wide variety of organizations, from large companies to entrepreneurial start-ups.
 
In 2019, the Graduate School of Engineering placed nearly 1000 students in co-op positions. We have a team that prepares students for the cooperative education experience through resumé building, developing interview skills, and guiding professional development.
